El Aissami dismisses the seizure of Venezuelan weapons from FARC                                                    El Universal, Venezuela, July 28, 2009

The confiscation from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) of Swedish weapons allegedly sold to the Venezuelan army is party of a “new media show”, said yesterday the Justice and Interior Minister, Tarek El Aissami. “We wouldn’t be surprised if again the source is the supercomputer owned by Raúl Reyes, in which an archive with a bizarre configuration shows up,” said the minister, according to Efe.

Correa gave military warning to Casa de Nariño

President Rafael Correa warned Colombia militarily, in case it attempts to attack Ecuador. “If Colombia attacks us again, the response will be armed. I will not allow an assault on the homeland like that which took place on March 1st 2008”, said the President in an interview to various T.V channels.

Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro warned yesterday in Nicaragua that if the U.S accepts the offer made by Colombia to occupy three military bases in that country, it will be going through a “no return road” in Latin America. In an interview with Dpa, Maduro called on the American president Barack Obama to correct his decisions on Colombia because Venezuela will “take measures” to safeguard its own security.                       more>>  

Evo Morales proposes an ALBA command

President Evo Morales said he will propose to his colleagues of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America (ALBA) the creation of a regional military school, based in Bolivia, to counter the military influence of the United States.“The proposal will be to approve a regional defense school with our own doctrine,” he stated yesterday when referring to the next summit of the group which will take place in Bolivia.                                                                     more>>
